Hi

Please go through the attached network diagram.

I have been using JunOS Olive 12.1 version for this OSPF NSSA lab.

I announced 3.3.3.3/32 on R3 under the RIP, redistributed RIP into OSPF on R7.

Why does an ASBR have External [Type-5] LSA? it should have type-7 only as I believe. please correct me if i'm wrong. I did the same lab in Cisco IOS, output is different. Is there any such thing in JunOS which i'm missing to enable or disable?

Only NSSA Type-7 LSA? Where is Type-5 LSA? Without having both LSAs 7 & 5 on its database, how is it able to translate from 7 to 5? This is big confusion here for me Smiley Happy Please someone help with your view in this output.

Due to this reason, R5 is also not getting that route since R6 doesn't propagate type-7 LSA onto the backbone which is not stub.

Hope these questions do make sense.. .if you need config.. here it is...
